Welcome. The beautiful parish of Littlebury encompasses not only the villages of Littlebury, Littlebury Green and Catmere End, but also those parts of the grounds of Audley End House which fall to the west of the River Cam, and a great part of the Audley End Estate lands. A mainly rural parish lying about two miles from the market town of Saffron Walden in Essex, Littlebury is twelve miles from the City of Cambridge and fifty-five miles from London.
The parish has traditionally been served by Great Chesterford C of E Primary Academy with a bus service for all children and at secondary level by Saffron Walden County High School. There are GP surgeries in Newport, Great Chesterford and Saffron Walden. The nearest General Hospital is Addenbrooke’s at Cambridge.
Services are held at Holy Trinity Church every Sunday. Livestock and gardening needs can be met at Stalley’s Barn at the north of the village of Littlebury. The Queen’s Head Pub is open daily offering meals and accommodation.
The Parish Council meets on the third Wednesday of the month (occasionally in August) at Littlebury Village Hall at 8pm and the general public are welcome to attend. In March and October the meetings are held at St. Peter's Community Centre in Littlebury Green. Agendas are posted on the notice boards at Littlebury, Littlebury Green and Catmere End three days in advance. A summary of the meeting is given in the parish magazine, which is distributed to every household monthly. Full minutes can be found on this site.
